I just recently completed the Holistic Time Coaching class for continuing education credit. Often, I hear professionals complain about needing to take continuing education courses to keep their certificates current. I’ve never been that person. I LOVE to learn – and relish the idea of learning more and increasing my skill-set to better serve my clients.
When I heard of the opportunity to enroll in this 7 week course taught by Denslow Brown, MCC and Julie Gray, ACC I was really excited. How often would I have the opportunity to take a coaching class that focused exclusively on time management? Plus, the opportunity to read the text, “True for You Time Management Workbook” and learn from the author was an exciting opportunity.
I figured I’d pick up a couple of new strategies to use for myself plus a couple of new ideas to help my clients problem solve some of their time management challenges.
[Tweet “Why do you LOVE to learn? Is it to increase your skill-set and better serve clients?”]I never dreamed I’d learn so much more – both about time management and myself!
Please, check back as I share some of my learning “ah-ha” moments on

I promise – you’ll learn something from my learning!!! (Better to learn from me than go through it on your own, the hard way!)

Learning is never wasted. Glad you still have the bug for it. Sometimes however you learn more from going through something, than being shown the answer straight away.
Agreed, Nick . . .sometimes you just need to travel the journey yourself. Whenever possible, however, I prefer to learn from someone else’s journey. Lots of roads to travel on this journey!!!
It may sound silly but I think one is not a human if they don’t learn something new every day! I like being able to learn new techniques, tips, and tricks and apply it to what I do! It is so awesome that you think that way, too!
As far as time management, I tend to either procrastinate or get distracted and generally feel like I don’t get anything done. If I write a list, it helps keep me on track and I feel I’ve accomplished something!
Yeah – you’ve found a strategy that helps – creating a list! Do you find you make your list daily? nightly? weekly? monthly?
Love your blog posts, Lisa. I read them often. I am a life learner as well. My biggest issue is keeping things on track. If I do a task when its new and fresh in my mind I’m good, but if I postpone getting started its really difficult to get to it… managing my time is a challenge for me!
So glad you visit often! A clarifying question – when you don’t do the task when it’s fresh in your mind, is it because you forget to do it, or is because the motivation/excitement isn’t as strong, or both, or neither? Thanks!
It is such an amazing thing in life when the teacher becomes so conscious of also being a student. It’s wonderful to see how passionate you continue to be about both teaching others and your openness to learning. Life is a journey and staying open to all possibilities makes the journey very interesting indeed!
Exactly! Enjoy the journey! Thanks for stopping by!!!!
Thank you Lisa, I love learning as well! Some time I can get lost in learning and have to put this aside – but still its great to be able to keep and improve skills.
I believe learning keeps me young. There are also other aspects to me than jewelry making. What I lovedmost aboutmy 30 years as a career counselor was learning about professions & jub skills I knew nothing about in order to brainstorm and help.It all makes life exciting.
What a great match between your enthusiasm and love of learning – and former profession!
[…] Each week I will share my experience and ah-ha moments as I put myself back in the role of student and of client instead of teacher and coach. Yes – as a coach who specializes in assisting clients with their time management and choice management challenges, I still had MUCH to learn! (Read about my experience here.) […]
